Founded in 1977, what was then known as Peninsula Video & Sound Inc. originally installed TV towers and antennas, as well as Closed Circuit TV, Intercom and Sound Systems. PVS contracted installations from MacLean Hunter Cable TV, who quickly became their main client. In the early 1990s, PVS began doing locates for Maclean Hunter, and in 1997 added Enbridge, Bell Canada, St. Catharines Hydro and the City of St. Catharines to their clientele. With these additions, PVS had truly acquired a "One Call, One Locate" service in St. Catharines. At this time, their name was changed to PVS Contractors. In order to more adequately keep track of the information necassary to perform locates for the utilities, PVS was among the first to join the ORCGA and participated in a pilot project to help form the LAC. Today, after more than 30 years in business, PVS has a total of 14 clients in our Locate Department in the Hamilton and Niagara regions. In most areas, PVS locates for four or more utilities, as well as private locates. The company still performs installations of Cable TV, Internet, and VOIP services for Cogeco in the Niagara Region.
